Guidelines for submitting Calendar and Opportunity Listings
In order to insure that your calendar and opportunity listings are included please submit information once (email, fax, or mail) following these guidelines. Lengthy/Unclear Submissions will not be considered. Listings submitted past our deadline and/or by their nature not included can be listed for a small service fee. Specific information below.

CALENDAR Our distribution and area for free calendar listings is primarily in the Metropolitan, NY and Hudson Valley regions. Our Editorial is of interest around the world. Given the number of events in Manhattan we cannot include these as free listings other than major museum shows and of course our advertisers.

         Paid Calendar listings are available for classes, workshops, lectures, films, demos, children’s events, and listings outside of our area. They are calculated as classified ads ($29 for the 1^st 15 words; 50¢ for each additional word.)

         Online Listings: Calendar and Opportunity listings arriving past our deadline for the print issue can be listed for a month online at a $20 service fee.

       For Free Calendar listings provide only the following necessary information (see example below): (Do not reply on this sample form).

           1.         Event date(s):  __________ thru ________

           2.         Event description

           3.         Event producer/location  (must include producer/organization name, street, address, city, state, contact phone, county)

           4.         Event time or Reception date and time

           5.         Event charge:  yes or no

Example:

October 4, 2005  John Doe, Photography Exhibit The John Doe Studio & Gallery, 123 Fourth St., Any Town, NY (914) 333-4444  Opening Reception: Oct 10, 6-8pm  (thru Oct 22)  County

OPPORTUNITIES submitted by organizations and institutions throughout U.S. offering grants, auditions, and competitions.  Basic listings run free for 2 months; extended listings are available for minimum charge.

Provide only the following necessary information:

                         1 .   “Call to” description (e.g. Artists, Photographers, Actors, etc.)

                          2.    Organization contact info: organization name, mailing address, phone, email, Website

                                    3.   Opportunity description, including event date; (e.g., Seeks entries for Open Competition, “Anything Goes” Jan 24-Feb16, ‘05)

                         4.    SASE information and address

                          5.   Submission deadline

 

CALENDAR / SUBMISSION RESTRICTIONS and DEADLINES:

             •   DO NOT attach files such as press release, photos, biographies, etc.

             •   Submit listing information by the 12th of the month PRIOR TO the publication month. (e.g. August 12th deadline for inclusion in September issue)  Please note: Jan/Feb issue deadline is Dec 12th; Jul/Aug deadline June 12th. Items can be sent several months in advance. There are no exceptions to the deadline for free listings other than paid current advertisers for the current issue.

 

•     For Free listings DO NOT SUBMIT:  Classes / Workshops / Lectures / Films / Demos/ Children’s events / Calendar events outside of Northeast / Duplicate submissions

 

If you miss our deadline and want to get into the online calendar or opportunity listings there is a $20 service fee for each listing per month.
