The Wallkill River School of Art- 232 Ward St. Montgomery, NY offers classes and workshops in painting, drawing, clay, and fiber. Classes for adults and children, beginners to advanced, en plein air and in the studio. Gallery exhibits revolving monthly exhibits of regional artist alongside an emerging artist. Painting Workshop in Italy Join Saugerties artist Nancy Campbell and her cousin Giulio Tirinelli of Serrone, Italy for a 9 day adventure in central Italy, "Discover Ciociaria." Only 50 miles, yet a world away from Rome, this plein air painting workshop will bring painters to the rugged mountain landscapes and charming medieval towns, vineyards and olive groves of Ciociaria. Paint in the morning, visit sites of local interest in the afternoon, enjoy great meals each evening. A day trip to Rome is planned, with a visit to the Vatican Museum. The Woodstock School of Art offers daily classes in drawing, painting, composition, sculpture and printmaking and workshops in specialized techniques, all under the guidance of more than thirty professional instructors. Each class is an artist's atelier combining the instructor's viewpoint with the free and open dialogue necessary for artistic creativity. There are no entrance requirements and no set curricula. The Barrett School of Art is noted for the “salon” style of instruction, emphasizing small class size and plenty of individual attention for students of all levels. Introduction to Still Life Drawing and Pastel Wednesday evenings 6 - 9 pm The class will cover the fundamentals of drawing, composition, color theory, underpainting and measuring.
